The third annual Oktober Family Fest, presented by: Time Warner Cable KC, will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011. This family-oriented event will run from 11am to 10pm and will be held at 12411 Wornall Ave., just south of Avila University. ADMISSION IS FREE, tickets for rides, games and great authentic German food can be purchased at the festival. Ja, es ist gut!
This year’s festival is expected to build on last year’s attendance of more than 4,000 people from all across the KC metro. The event will feature activities for all ages, including authentic German food, a Biergarten, and an all-new expanded midway with even more rides and carnival games than last year. Unlimited ride wristbands will be available, allowing kids to enjoy the carnival rides all day for one price.
Live music will be provided by several nationally recognized and local artists, including Mr. Stinky Feet, an award-winning children’s singer-songwriter; Chris Doolittle; the Alpen Spielers, a traditional German polka band; and KC favorite Liverpool – A Tribute to the Beatles.
Admission to the festival is free. Tickets are required for food, beverages, carnival games and rides, and can be purchased in advance at a discounted rate on Groupon. Tickets will also be available the day of the festival. Proceeds will benefit Calvary Lutheran Church and School in Kansas City.
