OktoberFamilyFest Live Entertainment

Liverpool

Liverpool 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm

You’re invited on a family-friendly “Magical Mystery Tour” back to where it all began … Liverpool.

No, it’s not John, Paul, George and Ringo, but this show is as close as you’ll ever get to a Beatles reunion. Many “Hard Day’s Nights” were devoted to the production of this spectacular tribute to the biggest attraction the world has ever known. To “Help” make your next event a special one, treat yourself to an unforgettable night of entertainment.

The show begins with a 15-minute, studio-quality video that plays on Liverpool’s giant screen monitors (when conditions permit). The video puts everyone in the mood for the Fab Four by recalling the sights and sounds of the sixties and then introducing the band in an unusual way.

The show itself spans the career of the Beatles and duplicates an actual Beatles concert as accurately as possible in both sight and sound. The first set covers the early years of the Fab Four, and is complete with mop-topped hair, matching suits, Cuban heeled boots, and rare vintage instruments. As the show continues, Liverpool traces the musical and cinematic legacy of the Beatles through elaborate costumes and phenomenal performances of songs from Sgt. Pepper to Abbey Road, and beyond. No expense has been spared to recreate the Fab Four’s stage look and sound.

Liverpool – A Tribute to the Beatles is not a group of actors. They are professional musicians with years of experience. Liverpool actually sings and plays all of the music you hear onstage. With assistance from their off-stage keyboard player, they can perform virtually any Beatles’ song live (including songs from the “studio years” that the Beatles didn’t play for live audiences). It is because they are such big Beatles fans that Liverpool put their hearts and souls into this tribute to the Beatles, and these gentlemen travel all over the country performing their amazing high-energy show. Alpen-Spielars

The Alpen Spielers 5:00pm to 7:00pm

The Alpen Spielers are a dynamic and energetic German polka band from the Kansas City area. They perform the various styles and vast repertoire available to polka bands with enthusiasm that draws the audience into the music. Formed in 1982, the Alpen Spielers have performed in and around Kansas City for parties and events.

During the last 12 years, the group has been featured at polka festivals throughout the United States, including the notable Wurstfest. Betty Jo Simon, MarkCohick, and Paul Rodabaugh form the nucleus of the Alpen Spielers; however, the group often expands to include drums and trumpets for larger festivals.

Mr.-Stinky-Feet

Mr. Stinky Feet (children’s music) 3:00pm

Jim Cosgrove, AKA Mr. Stinky Feet, is an award-winning children’s singer-songwriter, speaker and writer who has emerged as one of America’s leading family entertainers. He travels the country carrying a message that resonates with people young and old – hang on to the wonder of youth and love yourself, your neighbor, and the earth. Embodying these themes in his own life adds authenticity to his appeal, and his music and concerts are universally well received.

Jim has spent the last 12 years performing thousands of shows for thousands of families throughout North America and Europe. Along the way, he’s released seven CDs and two DVDs that have met with critical acclaim and an array of awards. He’s performed twice at the White House Easter Egg Roll and co-founded Jiggle Jam, the country’s largest family music festival.

Dolittle

Mr. Doolittle (children’s music) 1:30pm

Chris Doolittle (aka Mr. Doolittle) has been playing music since he was 11 years old, when he played his first gig at a local McDonald’s in his hometown of Simi Valley, California. He has been in love with writing and performing music ever since.

In addition to children’s music, Chris plays guitar, sings, and writes for the Kansas City rock band Frank’s Dream, and was a founding member of the locally popular 80s band The Front. He started to perform children’s music when his wife asked him to play for the children in her Montessori classroom when they were first dating. Since then, she has consistently booked him to play for her kids and other teachers’ kids at Highlawn Montessori in Prairie Village, KS. Mr. Doolittle credits Highlawn’s kids for inspiring him to create his current album, “Out of the Box.” Read more here.
